PA46 Accident Review

Note: The number of PA46 fatalities has remained roughly the same since 1984 (4 - 5 per year) in spite of efforts to evolve a standardized training program modeled on the likes of Cirrus and Bonanza. The overwhelming majority of these accidents are weather related loss of control. Please join me in continuing to ask the PA46 community to support standardized training. It will save lives. Here are the NTSB reports for the accidents which have occurred or have been unreported since the discontinuation of my MMOPA Magazine Accident Review Article:

20200303 Bishop GA - Loss of Control - 3 Fatal

20190607 Castalia NC - Loss of Control - 4 Fatal

20190208 Shreveport LA - Loss of Control - 2 Fatal

20181220 Mayport FL - Loss of Control - 2 Fatal

20151210 Council Bluffs IA - Loss of Control - 1 Fatal

20150225 Spokane WA - Fuel Contamination - 1 Fatal

author's note: The following is a summary analysis of PA46 accidents as published in the MMOPA Magazine from the fall of 2011 until the Winter of 2017
In 2017 the then new MMOPA Magazine Editor discontinued the Accident Review Article.
