Fees and Other Costs
Fees:
The standard training program presumes you are rated and current for instrument flight and have at least 500 Hours PIC time in high performance fixed wing aircraft. This is not required; however, if a pilot is unable to complete the training in the allotted time (for any reason including weather, aircraft maintenance, personal or business schedule), cancellation charges, wait charges and/or a supplemental training fee may apply. These programs are available at your choice of airport(s) anywhere in the world. Once I have your completed application form (one for each pilot) I am able to provide you with a custom proposal including a price quote for the training program which is likely to be best for you.

- Initial Pilot Training (turbine) – Piper Meridian, M500, M600 or M700 (up to 35 syllabus hours over 5 consecutive days)
· Initial Pilot Training (piston) - Piper Matrix, Malibu, Mirage or M350 (up to 28 syllabus hours over 4 consecutive days)
· Recurrent Pilot Training (piston & turbine) – (up to 14 hours during 2 consecutive days)
These standard programs are for pilots who are satisfied with their current level of performance and are able to perform consistently to the minimum FAA standards for the rating held. You will be offered a program which is likely to lead to successful completion based on your level of experience, your pre-training assessment survey score and your insurance requirements. Typically it takes 8 duty hours (one day) to produce 4 to 5 logbook flight training hours. Duty time for the purposes of billing starts at the agreed upon time and ends at the end of the duty day, meals and breaks excepted. It includes flight planning, weather briefing, pre-flight and post flight inspections, classroom sessions and impromptu briefings as required up to eight hours per day. All training programs are performance based.
Pilots new to the Piper PA46 are often asked by their insurance underwriter to receive additional dual flight instruction or Initial Operating Experience (IOE) from an approved instructor beyond what is normally given in the standard training program. Occasionally a pilot may need additional time to meet the minimum standard. I can provide this additional training and any other additional training you may require.
Ground audit: I am happy to have additional pilots sit in on the ground sessions (Including ride along on flights when appropriate). Anyone wishing to audit your training program must complete the application form. Audit training should be scheduled in advance.
Professional Pilots may be eligible for an abbreviated program. In order to be eligible for a Pro Pilot program you must have a minimum of 3000 hours PIC in high performance fixed wing aircraft and have flown 300 fixed wing hours in the last 12 months or have completed a formal training program within the last 6-8 months to ATP standards. The Pro Pilot program does not attempt to teach new skills. Endorsement for Flight Review and Instrument Proficiency Check endorsements and a completion certification endorsement are issued on a pass/fail basis.
Costs for other services are quoted specifically for each requirement. Retainers and invoices must be paid in US Dollars. Deposits are not refundable.
Expenses
Expenses are the direct and indirect costs I incur on your behalf to bring excellent PA46 training and services to the location of your choosing, anywhere in the world. They include ordinary direct costs for travel such as commercial fares for air, train, bus, taxi, car service, rental car, hotel, meals, tips and parking etc. Expenses include my travel time. Expenses will also include any amount I pay on your behalf for you, or your aircraft such as conference room charges, fuel, oil, fuel/oil test kits, ramp fees, maintenance charges, line service tips, bank processing fees or currency conversion fees. When you retain me for training and/or service you are pre-authorizing me to use my judgement to make these commitments & pay these charges on your behalf.
Wait Time, Postponements and Cancellations - If we are unable to train due to a mechanical failure, weather or your schedule, I am usually available to wait. The wait fee makes this option possible. In the event of a postponement or cancellation (for any reason) your invoice may reflect a charge for each reserved day lost plus any unrecoverable expenses. This essential charge makes it possible for me to save dates for you when you ask me to do so.
I will plan my own travel based on your commitment for dates and location(s). When I plan my travel, I make every effort to minimize costs with consideration given to a reasonable, reliable and flexible travel itinerary. This strategy literally puts me in position to give you excellent training and service at the lowest cost possible while preserving a flexible travel plan. I am happy to hear your suggestions, however I am generally unable to accept offers for travel planning service, award certificates, discount airline tickets, shared hotel rooms, car rides etc. because this may adversely impact my ability to serve you or other customers. I thank you in advance for your understanding.
I am able to accept the following forms of payment in USD only:
I can also accept wire transfer (electronic funds transfer - EFT). Please contact me for the wiring instructions
If you have any questions about the training or service, how to prepare, what to bring, dates, fees, expenses or billing policies, please check the frequently asked questions, contact me via email, or give me a call.
Excellent training doesn't take any longer or cost any more. Here are ten things you should consider before choosing your PA46 training and related service provider.
I look forward to working with you. Thank you.
